Community members invited to fill a school bus with new backpacks and school supplies on August 8
Brampton, ON (July 21, 2026) – Following the success of last year’s drive, the Downtown Brampton BIA and United Way Greater Toronto are continuing their partnership for the return of Stuff the Bus at the Brampton Farmers’ Market on August 8, 2026.
From 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., a school bus will be parked on Main Street North beside the Downtown Brampton BIA tent. Residents and Farmers’ Market visitors are invited to bring new backpacks and school supplies and help fill the bus.
“The community showed tremendous support for local youth through last year’s drive and we are proud to continue an initiative that helps students begin the school year with the supplies they need.” – Louroz Mercader, Executive Director, Downtown Brampton BIA.
Requested donations include new backpacks, notebooks, lunch bags, reusable water bottles, pencils, and other classroom essentials. All items collected this year will be provided to The Journey – Your neighbourhood Centre, helping ensure every child starts the school year prepared and confident.
“Last year, we saw the Downtown Brampton community come together to fill 100 backpacks for local youth. We are excited to build on that generosity again this year and support families in the community as they prepare for the new school year.” – Jen Davis, Senior Manager, Donor Experience, United Way Greater Toronto.
