REGIONAL COUNCILLORS ROWENA SANTOS & PAUL VICENTE 7-Eleven Letter

Dear residents, organizations, and businesses of Wards 1&5,

We would like to notify you of a recent application submitted by 7-Eleven to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) as it includes the location in Ward 1 at 150 Main Street N (Main and Church). You have an opportunity to provide feedback on this application.

The application proposes to serve alcohol to patrons in a designated consumption area on the premises at that 7Eleven.  Products will be served at point of sale and must be consumed within the designated consumption area inside the establishment. The 7-Eleven store application #1089542 for 150 Main Street N can be found on the AGCO website and is currently subject to a public commenting period until March 11, 2021. If you would like to submit your comment, please visit: https://www.iagco.agco.ca/prod/pub/en/Default.aspx?PossePresentation=PublicNoticeSearch.

We also strongly encourage you to send an email to your local MPP/Minister Prabmeet Singh Sarkaria at: prabmeet.sarkaria@pc.ola.org. Please copy us in your email, so that we can capture your feedback on this application as your Local Councillors (Rowena.Santos@brampton.ca and Paul.Vicente@brampton.ca). The deadline for all submissions to the AGCO/Province is March 11, 2021.

PLEASE NOTE THAT the AGCO is responsible for regulating all liquor license applications and approvals. The City of Brampton’s role is limited to the notification and compliance of the building code, fire safety, and public health requirements. To learn more about our Municipal jurisdiction, please visit: https://www.agco.ca/alcohol/liquor-saleslicences-municipal-approval.

Lastly, our office will be in touch in the coming days regarding a Virtual Town-Hall on Community Safety in downtown Brampton. One of the topics for discussion on the agenda will be the 7-Eleven store application at 150 Main Street N.

We extend our full support for any questions and concerns regarding these matters. Your feedback is important to our community. Our office is committed to continue working diligently with all government bodies, constituents, organizations and businesses to build a brighter future for Brampton.

Respectfully,

Councillor Rowena Santos                      Councillor Paul Vicente
