The Kickoff
Date: June 20, 2026
Time: 2:00-4:30 PM
Location: Garden Square (12 Main St N, Brampton)
Enjoy cultural performances by Carabram Brampton, an Afro-Brazilian Percussion workshop with TDot Batu, and watch our Parade of Nationsshowcasing the flags of the 48 countries competing on the world stage. Best of all, experience the unveiling of Downtown Brampton’s brand new 24-foot tribute soccer ball installation and enjoy free face painting and photo opportunities with our soccer icon mascots (Messi, Davies, Ronaldo).
Don’t miss the Soccer City Selfie Contest! Take a selfie with the 24-foot soccer ball installation, post it on Instagram or Facebook, use #SoccerCitySelfieChallenge, and be sure to follow and tag us @DowntownBrampton. Then visit our tent in Garden Square to claim a free coffee or kids-sized ice cream (while supplies last). This contest is available on June 20 only.
Visitors can also sign up for our new Summer Passport Program. Collect stamps from participating Downtown Brampton businesses throughout the summer for a chance to win a $1000 grand prize. Learn more at: https://
The festivities continue into the evening with a free outdoor Movie Night presented by the City of Brampton from 6:00-9:30pm at Garden Square.
