Huge Festival Returning to Brampton This Summer – inBrampton

By Christine Sharma

If you love food, festivals, live music, and outdoor fun, a big event is on its way back to Brampton for its third year in a row, and you might want to check it out!

Vibrant Brampton is set to hit our city this year on Friday July 27 and Saturday July 28 at Sheridan College, Davis Campus.

That’s at McLaughlin and Steeles.

According to event organizers, the event has taken place at Garden Square for the past few years.

“In 2018, the festival, on receiving overwhelming response, had to move to a new location and will be held at new and larger venue,” reads a recent release from Vibrant Brampton.

So, what’s happening at the event?

This major two-day cultural event includes live entertainment, food, and vendors.

Performances include Sirens of Shanti, which is the “brainchild” of Tony Singh, according to event organizers. Singh was formerly part of a JUNO-nominated bhangra team called Punjabi By Nature.

Punjabi pop duo Harpreet and Jassi are also slated to entertain the crowd, as are KARMA of Lost Again fame, an Indo-Jazz Bollowood dance show by Shiamak Dance Toronto, classical and fusion kathak by the talented Panwar dance team, and award-winning Indian classical dancer Enakshi Sinha.

The event aims to showcase well-known performers and local stars, too.

And of course, you can expect to find a ton of delicious South Asian food at the event, and vendors where you can snag some cool souvenirs.

It’s all organized by the Arts and Culture Initiative of South Asia (ACISA) in partnership with the Downtown Brampton BIA.

Vibrant Brampton is free to attend.

According to ACISA, a two-week visual arts festival is also happening at Beaux Arts Brampton. It’s called the Visual Arts of South Asia (VASA)-Arts Festival, and it’ll be available to the public from July 15-28.
