Create awareness about how best to support people going through separation and divorce and to see whether there are ways we can improve the system we already have. We think mediation has an important role to play in resolving family disputes. Court is seen as the first or only option for resolving disputes. The court system is adversarial and can encourage confrontation and stress. Court/litigation should be the last resort. Mediation is usually quicker, cheaper, less stressful and provides an outcome that lasts longer. Family mediation can reduce the financial and emotional costs of family breakdown.
What we will do:
Explain Family Mediation: answer your question and debunk the myths.
Help separating couples decide if mediation is for them.
Discuss the benefits of family mediation.
Connecting separation couples with Mediation professionals.
Using the battleground of a court-room to play out your divorce and separation drama has an impact on your finances and mental health. There is an alternative to court. Attend this event to find out more about alternate family dispute resolution methods.
