Downtown Brampton Businesses Asking Public to SHINE BRIGHT

BRAMPTON, ON (November 23, 2021) – Downtown Brampton is glowing for the holiday season and asking visitors to be a shining star for local, independent businesses. After more than 18 months of difficulties, Downtown Brampton is ready and open for business. The celebrations start on Friday, November 26th, 2021 and will continue through December. 

Shine Bright Celebration: Friday, November 26th and Saturday November 27th

The Downtown Brampton BIA will be hosting several activities on both days to encourage shoppers to come downtown for Black Friday and explore what local retailers have to offer. 

Events include:

  • Gift Tour: Businesses are open late, (until 9pm!) on Friday, November 26th. Follow the map and collect stickers from participating businesses to be entered to win $150 in Downtown Dollars. Make any purchase and receive a Present Card with a surprise gift inside! There is over $550 in gifts and prizes to be awarded.
  • StoryWalk: In partnership with Brampton Library, families will explore a reading route through the downtown with a chance to win a prize valued at over $100.
  • Give Back: A number of our businesses are collecting donations this year:
  • Pizzanini is collecting new, unwrapped toys and food donations at 18 Main St. StSouth
  • The Scented L’air is collecting brand new socks for the city’s less fortunate at 29 Queen St E
  • Restyle Beauty Boutique is collecting shoe boxes filled with gifts and essentials for women impacted by homelessness on behalf of the Shoebox Project
  • Watch a Classic Holiday Movie: Get ready for some holiday nostalgia! The big screen in Garden Square will be playing a different movie every hour, on the hour, including Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, A Charlie Brown Christmas and more.
  • Black Friday Retail Experience: Shop from exceptional Black-owned businesses at this pop-up shop hosted by Malcolm’s Choice (60 Queen St E)
  • Glowing Buskers: Watch for the glowing Ice Queen, the Snowflake Princess and the Snowflake kid walking around Downtown Brampton on Friday night.
  • Hot Chocolate with Santa: Warm up with a FREE hot chocolate and chat with the jolly man himself. Santa will be in Garden Square from 6pm-8pm on Friday. Bring your camera!
  • Fire Show: Prepare to be wowed on Friday at 8pm as NorthFire Circus brings a live fire show to Garden Square. 
  • Live Ice Carving: Saturday morning, watch live ice carving from 10am-2pm
  • Arts & Crafts: FREE arts and crafts for kids in Garden Square on Saturday from 11am-3pm. 
  • Princesses: Everyone’s favourite princesses, Elsa and Anna, are back to meet and greet visitors with FREE hot chocolate in Garden Square from 12pm-4pm. 
  • Story Time: Head back to Malcolm’s Choice (60 Queen St E) at 1pm on Saturday for a story with a local children’s author. 
  • EnviroDrum: Garden Square will host this popular act from 3pm-4pm.


This popular activity is back this year. Carriage rides will be offered on Fridays (6pm-9pm) and Saturdays (4pm-8pm) until December 18, 2021. From December 27-30 rides will be offered every day from 6pm-9pm. Rides must be booked and paid for in advance through EventBrite


Carollers will be performing in various outdoor locations in Downtown Brampton on Tuesday evenings from 5pm-7pm (December 7, 14, 21) and on Saturday afternoons from 1pm-3pm (December 4, 11, 18). The carollers have been organized through a community partnership with Inspirational Impressions as part of Christian Heritage Month.
