10th Annual Live Art Competition Opens Registration
Artists Invited to Paint Downtown Brampton
Brampton, ON (June 9, 2026) – Registration is now open for the 10th Annual prestigious Live Art Competition, a one-day outdoor painting event taking place on Saturday, August 22, 2026 in Downtown Brampton. Presented by Inzola’s Art Endowment Funds in partnership with the Downtown Brampton BIA and PAMA, the event invites artists from across Ontario to spend the day painting in the city’s downtown core, competing for cash prizes and the chance to have their work shown in a gallery exhibit.
Participants check in at Gallery 35 (35 Queen St W), then head out to paint anywhere in the downtown area. Each registered artist receives a 16×20 canvas or 140 lb. watercolour paper and is welcome to work in oil, acrylic, or watercolour. The event runs rain or shine.
“Reaching our tenth year is something we’re incredibly proud of. What began as an opportunity for artists to create and connect has grown into a tradition that attracts talent from across Ontario. Over the past ten years, we’ve watched artists bring Downtown Brampton to life through their work, and we’re excited to welcome both returning participants and first-time competitors.” – John Cutruzzola, Founder, Gallery 35

“Every year, we’re amazed by what artists create when the city becomes their studio. Downtown Brampton has so much character — the architecture, the streets, the people — and it’s exciting to see how different artists interpret it. We are happy to give artists this opportunity to capture a unique perspective of the community through their work.” – Grettel Comas, Co-Chair, Live Art Competition
“Downtown Brampton has a vibrant creative community, and this competition is one of the best expressions of it. Having artists out on the streets brings an energy that’s hard to replicate. We’re proud to support an event that draws people into the heart of the city.” – Louroz Mercader, Executive Director, Downtown Brampton BIA
